Mt Ellinor Climb 2009

As only one member of the Venturing Crew had interest in climbing this year, we opened it up to anyone in the Ward who wanted to go. Several adults and one young woman took us up on the offer and it was all uphill from there.
Due to an unusual weather pattern, what was supposed to be a snow climb with glysading down the mountain became a Class 3 rock scramble with rain and slush.

Even though the weather was miserable, we focused on the climb itself and learning some new things about climbing in this environment. It was very wet and slippery but everyone kept their spirits high.

We eventually made it to the summit with zero visibility. This was the biggest let down of the entire climb as Ellinor is known for its amazing views of the interior of the Olympic Mountain Range and Southern Washington.

Oh well, better luck next time!
